Dali, Salvador.
The Persistence of Memory. 1931. Oil on canvas. Museum of Modern Art.
Time continues it's ticking
Joining us as we melt into our seats
We wait for it's days to end
so we may go out to the heat
We continue our normal ways
Going through the motions
As does time every day
Like the tide of the ocean
Never once does it break stride
Continuing on and on
Forever we rely on time
Just like the burning sun
But what if it did not tick on?
If it fell apart?
What would become of us
But a melted work of art?
